About Me

Cris Boerner is an award-winning and published milliner and textile designer. She has been creating for family and friends for over 50 years.

Since 2003 she has had the opportunity to attend residential textile workshops which has developed and expanded her existing skills and introduced her to new textile skills. This growth has led to her creations winning awards and being published. She is now looking to showcase her experience and talent to a wider audience. She loves the unpredictability and surprise of the creative process and is a firm believer in its healing qualities. Cris’ creative talents are spread across millinery, knitting, crochet, felting, sewing, wearable art, jewellery making and collage. She has even made shoes.

I have always loved wool and started to spin when my girls were small, I progressed to weaving and felting after joining the Geelong Handweavers and Spinners Guild.
I have been fortunate in having the opportunity to exhibit samples of my work at local exhibitions, Geelong and Bendigo Shows and to have been a section winner at the Scarf Festival at the Geelong Wool Museum.

About four years ago I had my first formal lessons in Soft pastels and haven’t looked back , winning an award at the Bannockburn art show in 2015
I also love acrylics for a slightly abstract style

Over the last eight or so years I have been enjoying my card making for family and friends. The craft is enjoyable, soothing, satisfying and a wonderful way to socialise and meet new people. It is a craft that can be done at home as well as being easily transportable to other crafting venues around Victoria and even aboard a crafting cruise!
