About Me

After a successful career in corporate leadership, from his workshop entitled “Stu. Dio. K” in Inverleigh Stuarte is pursuing an interest in producing a range artistic forms from rejected materials.

This is more than recycling. Stuarte has interest in recreating a completely new reality from discarded and discovered equipment and materials. Working mainly with old steel machinery, ancient dumped metal and weathered timber, materials are re-formed into bizarre and unique designs which are put to a completely different purpose or which may simply become a new rustic art structure.

Designs can be abstract, caricatures of the natural of various sizes and may also be designed to serve a practical purpose.

I have always loved wool and started to spin when my girls were small, I progressed to weaving and felting after joining the Geelong Handweavers and Spinners Guild.
I have been fortunate in having the opportunity to exhibit samples of my work at local exhibitions, Geelong and Bendigo Shows and to have been a section winner at the Scarf Festival at the Geelong Wool Museum.

Over the last eight or so years I have been enjoying my card making for family and friends. The craft is enjoyable, soothing, satisfying and a wonderful way to socialise and meet new people. It is a craft that can be done at home as well as being easily transportable to other crafting venues around Victoria and even aboard a crafting cruise!
