Artists at the Studio
I have been drawing all my life and received honours and awards during my school years. I sold my first painting, a watercolour at 16.
About four years ago I had my first formal lessons in soft pastels and haven’t looked back, winning an award at the Bannockburn Art Show in 2015.
I also love acrylics for a slightly abstract style.
Photography is always the beginning of my artwork, as I capture the colours and textures of the bush. From there, they may be enhanced as photographs, become digital art or even a fabric design.
I’m Jeanette Brown, living in rural Rokewood, Victoria. Self-taught – drawing from early childhood.
In June 2015, I had an opportunity to learn to work with Pastel – loved it, I have discovered new mediums, new papers/canvas and styles to explore.
Carol Moyse moved to Dereel approx 6 years ago after living in South Australia her entire life. Her passion for photography started a little over 2 years ago and her main focus is bird photography, especially birds in flight.
As a painter, Caroline is self-taught and her work is heavily influenced by the environment and the animal world. She loves taking photographs of the native flora and fauna in Golden Plains Shire and then translating the photographs to painting and drawing.
I have been a teacher for many years teaching people how to create with fabrics and fibres.
I have successfully won first prizes for my mixed media artwork at the Melbourne Show, Geelong Show and also won the Jenny Blake award for a soft pastel piece.
I love to paint in acrylic, oils and soft pastels.
